Nie Alleine - Never Alone

Posted by: bsl

In the elated days that followed the Berlin Allianz’ European Championship win we held our first raffle on our homepage. The raffle was coordinated with some European gaming media outlets and the task was as daunting as it was simple:

Create a slogan or catchphrase that can commemorate the victory and what it took to achieve it.

The ultimate prize is a Berlin Allianz jersey signed by all the players and the General Manager. After a couple of intense months working through the incredible stack of suggestions as well as considering their merit we are ready to present our winner. It was inspired by Mathias Twardawski's entry. Mathias resides in Rastatt, a city to the south-west of Karlsruhe and in the end his suggestion helped us come out with:

«Nie Alleine – Never Alone»

This is what GM Jonas Alsaker Vikan had to say about the winner of the raffle:

- Nie Alleine – Never Alone works in both English and German.

- It capsulates the essence of what the team Berlin Allianz stands for in the Championship Gaming Series. With a unique gaming format where each game counts it is every man and woman for each other. In sports mistakes and fumbles occur, however what makes team sports interesting is that there will be someone there to set the record straight. That championship trait was proven in the 10 players on the Allianz team during the European final. It is something they take with them into the biggest tournament in the history of electronic sport.

- To us «Nie Alleine – Never Alone» means there is always someone there; someone that has your back to support you as you face the toughest of life’s challenges.

To celebrate the winner and to supporters of Berlin Allianz we have created some wallpapers and forum signatures for you. The theme for these is naturally «Nie Alleine – Never Alone» and like this team they are bi-lingual which mean you can get them in both German and English.

Never Alone

We really want to work «Nie Alleine – Never Alone» into our fan base and into the team mythology which is why you are more than likely see several initiatives based on it in the near future. For now it is serves as a base for the players to propel their performance at the first ever CGS World Final to the great heights we all hope to reach.

The basis for the «Nie Alleine» wallpaper.

The foundation for the wallpaper a photograph taken seconds after the Counter-Strike: Source team won the European Final by beating Stockholm Magnetik 10-8 as the last pick of the draft against the first.

It was taken by Championship Gaming Series Global Content Manager and TheCGS.com Editor Brian «Karpov» Johnson who was on had as the events unraveled. As always there is a an English version downloadable along with the German one. The wallpapers and forum signatures were designed by Berlin gfx-guru Alexander «lex» Kristensen.

Well, I'm very happy that you took my idea. I was very excited and nervous since I have heard that "I have won". Well I hope this slogan will bring a lot of luck on berlin allianz.
Thank you for this very nice shirt with the signs of you (and the very nice drawn devil from bsl ).
And don't forget, that you're: NEVER ALONE.
